Instant access to certificates of insurance – coming soon!

Beginning Sept. 15, your clients will be able to instantly generate a certificate of insurance (COI) from their online account instead of having to reach out to their agent or call the Small Business Service Center. This unique digital capability will result in faster processing times for your clients and fewer administrative tasks for you.

 

Eligibility
Initially, this functionality will be available for your clients who have business owner’s policies (BOPs) in eCLIQ<sup>®</sup> and eCLIQ<sup>®</sup> Simple™ and monoline general liability policies. However, we will be rolling out the functionality for additional lines of business in the coming months.

 

How it works
On Sept. 15, your clients will see a banner message on their online account promoting the feature, and they will see a Certificate of Insurance tab in their interface. They can navigate to that tab to generate a certificate or see certificates that have already been generated.

 

To create a certificate, your clients with eligible policies can simply click Create Certificate, select the policy and then they have the option to enter the certificate holder information. The certificate will then open in a new tab or window – it’s that easy!

 

Your clients with policies that are not yet eligible will also see the banner message and the new tab, but they will not see an option to Create Certificate.

Uncashed BOP refunds will be reissued as credit

In April 2020, we issued a 15% refund on two months of premium coverage for all business owner’s policies, including those that were written as part of a specialty program. Those refunds were issued as checks to your clients to help ease the financial burden that the pandemic placed on many small businesses.

 

Today, our records indicate that several thousand of those checks have gone uncashed. We want to let you know that this month, we will be canceling those checks and will issue the outstanding refunds as credit on those customer accounts.
