The cyber suite endorsement is now available for business owner’s policies (BOPs) in eCLIQ in Alaska with effective dates on or after Sept. 1, 2022. Offered through The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company, the new endorsement provides your clients with more robust coverage for today’s digital world. Cyber suite policyholders also have access to Cyber Safety^®, a collection of risk management tools that help prevent cyberattacks.

For policies with effective dates on or after Sept. 1, cyber suite will replace the data compromise and CyberOne™ endorsements previously available for BOP in eCLIQ.

Why do your clients need cyber coverage?
Cyberattacks and data breaches are on the rise. And because small businesses often have fewer cybersecurity measures in place, they are particularly vulnerable to this growing threat. Cyberattacks and data breaches are inconvenient, expensive and can even put your small commercial clients out of business.

How to add this coverage
Coverage can be selected at new business or midterm by endorsement. Policies that currently include data compromise and/or CyberOne will receive policyholder notices at renewal, advising of the new endorsement being added to the renewal policy and a summary of the changes. Cyber suite will automatically attach on new business quotes and display within the Optional Coverages under the Summary of Policy Coverages.

Liberty Mutual has began implementing the surcharge required by the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (FIGA). This surcharge was effective as of Jan. 1, 2022.

We want to clarify that we will be processing an endorsement on all policies effective Jan 1, 2022 and later that have already been issued and did not have the charge and form attached. The declarations message will explain to the insureds what the endorsement is for and the form will be included in the output. New business and automated renewals that generated after the system was updated will have the appropriate charge and form attached.

Billing impact

• For customers paying in installments, we will apply the FIGA assessment to the balance and the policyholder will be billed over remaining installments.
• For customers who paid the premium in full, we will apply a charge to the account and a bill will be provided for the amount of the FIGA assessment.

We expect FIGA will implement a second surcharge before the end of this year and we will communicate details of how we intend to handle billing in that situation.
