Quoting a package product? Use our handy new tool

Audience: CO, IN, MD, NC, OH

Finding the right product fit for your clients should be easy. That’s why we created the new Package/Product Determination Tool to route you to the best package product before you even begin a quote. Talk about convenient!

Here’s how it works:

  • Access the new tool directly in eCLIQ® within the new Appetite tab.
  • Enter a GL class code or description, and you’ll see our appetite for that specific class code in your state, as well as initial concerns associated with the class code.
  • If the property and liability are in our appetite, a button labeled See Package/Product Determination will appear.
  • From there, answer a few risk-assessment questions, and the tool will display the right package product for your client.
  • Click Start Quote, and you are then routed to the Advanced tab with the package product already selected for you. You can then add any other lines of business you’d like to quote, and you’ll be routed to the appropriate system to begin your quote.

We’re piloting this new tool in Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, North Carolina and Ohio, with plans to roll it out to additional states. The new tool will eventually replace the Pre-Qualify Tool, offering more robust information about our appetite and a more streamlined quoting experience all in one. For detailed guidance on how to use the new tool, please see our helpful user guide.

Now available for clients! Instant access to certificates of property

We recently expanded our self-serve certificate of insurance capabilities for clients to include certificates of property (COP). This means your clients can instantly generate certificates of insurance – or proof of insurance – for both property and liability from their online account instead of having to reach out to their agent or call the Small Business Service Center. This unique digital capability will result in faster processing times for your clients and fewer administrative tasks for you.

Eligibility

This functionality is available for clients who have policies with liability or property coverage.

How it works

Clients see a banner message on their online account promoting the feature, and they see a Certificate of Insurance tab in their interface. They can navigate to that tab to generate a certificate or view certificates that have already been generated.

To create a certificate, those with eligible policies can simply click Create Certificate, select the policy and then they have the option to enter the certificate holder information. The certificate will then open in a new tab or window – it’s that easy!

Clients with policies that are not yet eligible will also see the banner message and the new tab, but they will not see an option to Create Certificate.

Consumer demand for digital capabilities is at an all-time high, and your clients want tools that make doing business easier and faster. This is just one way we’re delivering on that, and we look forward to sharing additional capabilities as they’re introduced.

TX: New NAIC code required for commercial auto

Next month we’ll be introducing auto in eCLIQ Simple – a new and improved commercial auto product. The product’s underwriting company in Texas will be Liberty County Mutual Insurance Company, which has a different National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) code than the one associated with our other commercial products.

If you use agency download to import policy information into your agency management system (AMS) and would like to use it for this new product in Texas, you will need to update your AMS with the Liberty County Mutual Insurance Company NAIC code: 19544L. The new code only pertains to commercial auto business quoted in eCLIQ Simple in Texas – new business quoted in all other states will continue to be written under the General Insurance Company of America NAIC code (24732L).
